Arkansas Sen. John Boozman has left the hospital after undergoing heart surgery last week.

Boozman, who was treated for acute aortic dissection last week after experiencing chest and shoulder pain, “is under doctor’s orders to rest as he regains his strength,” his office said in a statement.

The Arkansas Republican also said that he is monitoring the aftermath of devastating tornadoes in the state yesterday.

“I’m receiving regular updates from my staff about the current search and rescue effort. I will work with the governor’s office, the congressional delegation and FEMA Administrator Fugate to make sure that Arkansans get the resources they need to respond, rebuild and recover,” he said. “We will help in any way we can.”
