Boehner: Obama Chose to "Sabotage" Immigration Reform

The morning after President Barack Obama announced deportation relief for millions of undocumented immigrants living in the U.S., House Speaker John Boehner said the President’s action has continued to erode any trust between he and the Republicans and has damaged any chances for the Congress to work together to pass immigration reform.

“By this action the President has chosen to deliberately sabotage any chance of enacted bipartisan reforms that he claims to seek,” Boehner said.

“We will not stand by as the President undermines the rule of law in our country and places lives at risk,” Boehner added. “We are working with our members and looking at the options that are available to us but I will say to you, the House will in fact act."

Boehner also said he told the President Thursday that in addition to creating a tense environment, he is also “damaging” the presidency.
