The White House was on lockdown for more than an hour Thursday after two men threw items over the area's north and south fence lines.

The Secret Service says that two men, who were taken into custody, threw the items over the North Fence Line and the South Fence Line at the same time.

The men, Evan J. Graham and Vaughn Greenbrier Lerriche, were arrested by Secret Service around 2:50pm ET. The object Graham threw has been described as a cassette tape; Lerriche threw what's being calling "miscellaneous papers." Officials do not know if the two incidents are connected.

The all clear was given at about 4:25 pm ET.

President Barack Obama is not in Washington D.C. today; he is on a fundraising swing in California.

The lockdown was the second in three days. On Tuesday, a driver followed a motorcade carrying Obama's daughters past a security gate.
