The soothing tones of Morgan Freeman's voice have left us entranced in films ranging from "The Shawshank Redemption" to "The Dark Knight Rises." But Miss Daisy probably would have stopped the car if Freeman's Oscar-worthy voice sounded like it does in this video for the Science Channel's "Through the Wormhole."

"In unusual situations," Freeman says, before putting a red balloon to his mouth and inhaling, "you don't always get what you expect." And what we don't expect is to hear how the distinguished actor sounds on helium.

Distorted and a little high-pitched, the voice gag is the stuff that giggles are made of — especially when God is doing the talking.

The 30-second promo is for the fifth season of "Wormhole," which returns to Science on June 4 at 10 p.m.
