Former NBA player Lamar Odom appeared in public for the first time since an overdose left him in a coma in October, attending Kanye West's launch of his new LP on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Odom is the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, whose sister Kim Kardashian is married to West. Khloe Kardashian and most of the Kardashian clan were also in attendance.

The former Los Angeles Laker was hospitalized on Oct. 12 after being found unconscious from a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel. Odom fell into a coma after his condition worsened, with problems with his heart, kidneys and lungs reported.

While his prognosis initially looked bleak, a few days later Odom awakened from his coma and was able to breathe on his own. He went months, however, without making any public appearances and few updates.
