William Shatner lamented on Twitter that he feels "really awful" he won't be able to attend the memorial services for fellow "Star Trek" actor Leonard Nimoy, who died Friday at age 83. Nimoy was beloved for his portrayal of pointy-eared Spock, the half-alien, second-in-command to Shatner's Captain Kirk.
Countless tributes have poured in to honor the actor —from scientists, fans, politicians and celebrities, including Shatner, who said in a statement, "I loved him like a brother." Shatner, 83, expressed his sadness Saturday that he already had plans to appear at a Red Cross ball in Florida at night, and couldn't travel in time to attend the Sunday services honoring his friend.
