Pining for the old days when print news ruled?
While many readers now prefer their news buzz-packed and paper-free, some journalists still long for the days of old media — and two of them found a new way to express that.
On Saturday, Aaron Edwards, associate editor for BreakingNews.com -- which is owned by NBC News -- mused about media with a few lines perfectly suited to a reworking of Lorde's hit "Royals," and it wasn't long before he had some help.
At that point, that was as far as a re-imagined "Royals" went, that is until freelance reporter Adrienne LaFrance took it to the next step. Before long that brief Twitter exchange was so much more.
LaFrance rounded out the lyrics for an apt (and hilarious) ode to how things are (virtual, viral and very digital) and the way things were (when print was king).

Within hours, Edwards recorded it, and a fully-realized parody was ready for the world.
