Actor Ben Woolf, who played Meep on "American Horror Story: Freak Show" and died Monday following a car accident, was able to "save three lives" on Tuesday — through organ donation, according to a non-profit.
Three adult women received Woolf's liver and two kidneys on Tuesday night, according to OneLegacy, a non-profit, federally designated organ, eye and tissue recovery agency serving the Los Angeles area.
Woolf, 34, died Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with his family at his side, according to his publicist. The actor had been hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by the side mirror of a passing vehicle on a Los Angeles-area street on Feb. 19.
"Ben was the kindest, most thoughtful, gentle, sweetly innocent person I ever knew,” his father, Nicholas Woolf, said in a statement released by OneLegacy. "He always wanted to be an actor, and when he was 30 he ran off to L.A. and accomplished more than our wildest imaginations. Without meaning to, Ben taught people so much — he inspired and generated love with everyone. Signing up to be an organ donor was absolutely fitting with his character. He would be very glad to know that three people are alive because of what he could give."
A spokeswoman for the non-profit told NBC News Woolf signed up to be a donor in 2007.
The driver in the fatal accident stopped at the scene right away and wasn't cited or arrested.
