On Saturday night, we'll find out who does the better Bernie Sanders impression — Larry David or the real thing.
The Vermont senator will be making a cameo appearance on “Saturday Night Live” when David is hosting, sources close to the campaign confirmed to NBC News.
David's spot-on send-up of the Democratic presidential candidate was one of the show's most memorable moments this season and got rave reviews from Sanders.
"In terms of Larry David, I think we're going to put him up on the stage at our next rally — let him do it rather than me," Sanders said at an Iowa campaign stop after the show aired. "He does it better than I do."
“SNL,” which is known for its surprise cameos, has not confirmed Sanders will make an appearance.
His turn on the NBC sketch comedy staple comes just days before the critical New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, which most polls show the senator with a commanding lead over rival Hillary Clinton.
Clinton appeared in the season premiere playing a sympathetic barkeep named "Val" opposite the show’s current Hillary impersonator, Kate McKinnon.
Previously, Clinton appeared on the show in 2008 with then-cast member Amy Poehler, who also specialized in imitating the former first lady.
