"Show me the money!" Reality personality turned talk-show host Bethenny Frankel may as well have uttered that famous phrase from "Jerry Maguire" when she interviewed mom of multiples Kate Gosselin.

The former "Real Housewives of New York City" personality wanted to know how Gosselin spent her reality TV fortune, and didn't let up on her line of questioning when Gosselin balked. At one point, Frankel even called out the fact that Gosselin had "made a lot of money" on reality TV.

When Gosselin wouldn't say more than that the money was a blessing and that she had had a tummy tuck, Frankel pressed on: "You said publicly you kind of need to support your kids. You need money to support your kids. So I think people want to know where the money went, where the money is."

In 2010, the year before "Kate Plus 8" was canceled by TLC, TV Guide reported that the reality TV mom was making $250,000 an episode. Since the show ended, Gosselin has appeared on various reality programs (including "Dancing With the Stars" and "Celebrity Wife Swap"), written several books, and worked briefly as a blogger for CouponCabin.

Gosselin told Frankel she "had nothing to hide," but when the talk-show host kept asking, she finally revealed that the money was socked away for a very good purpose.

"The majority of what we made, I, personally took and put in a college fund for (the kids) because they will go to college," Gosselin admitted. "So I use coupons, we don't wear top brands. Those things to me really aren't overly important, but college, school and their house, where they live is important."

Gosselin also told Frankel that she feels "sadness and empathy and pity" for ex-husband Jon Gosselin, who starred with her on their TLC show the first five seasons. She recently filed suit against her ex, who now works as a waiter, accusing him of hacking her phone and computer to get defamatory content for the tell-all book "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World" by Robert Hoffman.
