Ghostly Buildings Haunt New York’s Catskills

The Catskills, a once-bustling vacation community approximately 100 miles north of New York City, have been in steady decline since the 1980s.

These images offer a gllimpse into what's left of the popular summer retreat where tourists and celebrities alike once flocked. 30 years later, after suffering a catastrophic decline, the majority of the region's buildings and businesses have been left abandoned.

In the photo above, an abandoned business lies in the Catskills region of New York on Oct. 4, 2014.
