Egyptian protesters beat a man as he tries to escape on the back of a motorcycle after he was accused of attacking demonstrators in the Abbassiya district of Cairo on May 2. At least 12 people were killed when attackers stormed an anti-military protest near the defense ministry in Cairo. The fate of the man is unknown.

A bear that wandered into a University of Colorado Boulder dorm complex falls from a tree after being tranquilized by Colorado wildlife officials on April 26. Colorado wildlife official Jennifer Churchill said that the 200-pound male bear was tagged and relocated to a remote Rocky Mountain area. The bear was hit by two cars on May 3 and died.

Screaming deal
Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' is auctioned at Sotheby's May 2012 Sales of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art on May 2, in New York City. The masterpiece is one of four versions created by Munch and is the only one that is privately owned. The masterpiece sold for a record breaking $119 million.
