A relative grieves after after a family member was confirmed dead on Feb 7. at a 17-story apartment building that collapsed in an earthquake in Tainan, southern Taiwan. 

Families waited anxiously as rescuers painstaking pulled survivors from the remains of the building.

The emergency center in Tainan said that 171 people had been rescued from the building following the magnitude-6.4 quake that struck at dawn Saturday.
