The Snohomish County sheriff's office said search and rescue workers believe they have located the body of Molly Kristine Regelbrugge, 44, who is the last remaining victim of the deadly landslide that killed 43 people in the small community of Oso, Wash. Regelbrugge's family, however, told NBC Seattle affiliate KING5 that they were remaining cautious "after a series of false alarms." Sara Regelbrugge, Kristine's daughter, told the station that their family got the call Tuesday morning — but they have been given similar information over ten times since the slide happened on March 22.

At a news conference Tuesday, Snohomish County Sheriff Ty Trenary said that improving weather conditions in the region helped locate the body, along with evidence gathered from the community. He was confident that the medical examiner would confirm that the remains were those of Rugelbrugge.

"We wouldn't be standing here in front of you if we weren't absolutely sure we’d located her this morning," said Trenary. "It’s been tough on all of us. We all wanted this day ... I don’t know if it brings closure; it brings the end of a chapter."
