Outage Wreaks Havoc on NYC Subway

Service resumed to a major subway artery Wednesday morning, about two hours after a “significant” power outage crippled service on at least three major lines in Manhattan amid a snowy morning rush.

1, 2 and 3 trains resumed service between Times Square and 137th Street around 11:00a.m., according to the MTA. In addition, 7 train service between Queens and Manhattan resumed following unrelated fire department activity.

Commuters on social media were reporting crowding on platforms and in passageways in Times Square, which is the busiest station in the busiest subway system in the U.S.At least fourinches of wet snow have fallen in Central Park as of Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service reported.
