A Kansas foster dad who left a 10-month-old girl in a hot car — allegedly while he and his partner smoked pot and watched "Game of Thrones" — pleaded guilty Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter. Seth Jackson could get between 31 and 136 months in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 30. The 29-year-old Wichita man, who was intially charged with murder, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and declined to comment until he learns his sentence, NBC station KSNW reported.
Prosecutors have said that Jackson, who hoped to adopt little Kadylak and her siblings, stopped at his marijuana dealer's house before he picked her up from daycare. When he arrived home, he forgot to take her out of the car, and she was left there for more than two hours on a 90-degree day. Jackson's family's has said he is devastated by the child's death.
