Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is urging the president to take sweeping immigration action and predicting that the White House's announcement on its expected executive action could come "as soon as this week."

In an interview with Univision that aired Monday evening, Reid said the timing of the announcement will be "very soon" and dismissed the notion that he pushed President Barack Obama to delay it.

"I believe the President should go big, as big as he can," he said.

Reid went on to say that a proposal that would shield the parents of DREAM Act-eligible children from deportation "would be, as far as I’m concerned, within the definition of big."
