Interpreter Christine Dudley signs for civil rights activist Reverend Al Sharpton (not pictured) during a speech at the National Action Network in the Harlem Borough of New York on Saturday.

Amid fallout from a decision in the fatal police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, Sharpton is calling for a countdown to the end of the grand jury looking into another combustible case involving a death of an unarmed man while in New York Police Department custody.

Before the end of the year, authorities are expected to announce whether the officer involved in the chokehold death of Eric Garner in September will face criminal charges.
