Palestinians Search the Rubble During 12-Hour Truce in Gaza

Thousands of Gazans returned to survey the damage to their homes during a humanitarian truce on Saturday.

Thousands of Gazans returned to survey the damage to their homes during a 12-hour humanitarian truce on Saturday. A Palestinian woman, above, was overwhelmed by the destruction in the northern district of Beit Hanoun. The Israeli military had requested that civilians not return to homes they had evacuated during the cease-fire.
