The FBI expects to finish analyzing computer files from the pilot and co-pilot of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 “within a day or two,” Director James Comey told Congress on Wednesday.
“I have teams working literally around the clock to try and exploit that,” he said. “I don’t want to say more about that in an open setting. But I expect it to be done fairly shortly, within a day or two, to finish that work.”
Comey was testifying before a House budget committee.
Malaysia asked the FBI to analyze the computer data, including a flight simulator from the home of the pilot, Zaharie Ahmad Shah. Files from the simulator were deleted Feb. 3, more than a month before Flight 370 vanished, authorities have said.
