Double-amputee Olympian Oscar Pistorius broke his long social-media silence on Sunday, posting pictures including inspirational quotes, photos of him helping children with disabilities and a psalm from the Bible on Twitter.
Pistorius, who is free on bail, is accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home on Valentine’s Day last year. Dubbed the "Blade Runner," Pistorius admits fatally shooting the model and law graduate but denies premeditated murder. Pistorius' defense lawyers rested their case last week and closing arguments are due to begin on August 7. Sunday's posts marked the sprinter's first foray onto Twitter since Feb. 14, when he tweeted a link to a statement about Steenkamp's death. “No words can adequately capture my feelings about the devastating accident that has caused such heartache for everyone who truly loved - and continues to love Reeva,” Pistorius wrote.
