Armed Russian soldiers stormed a Ukrainian military installation near Simferopol, the capital of Crimea, Tuesday.
NBC’s Ed Flanagan tweeted from the confusing scene as heavily armed soldiers were seen running around the Ukrainian military base before shots were fired.
The move comes days after Crimeans voted to join Russia. It could be a sign of Russia taking over Ukrainian facilities now that President Vladimir Putin has officially added the Crimean peninsula back to the Russian map.
