The Apple Watch was just announced last week and won't be released until 2015. That has not stopped one company from already figuring out how to use it to help people hook up. It's called Close Encounter, a new app from the people behind 3nder — which is kind of like Tinder, but for groups of, um, adventurous people. Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook touted the Apple Watch's ability to connect romantic partners by letting them share heartbeats. He probably did not envision this. Close Encounter does away with the idea of actually knowing what your date looks like. Instead, it displays a map of potential matches, with locations listed one kilometer off for safety reasons. Profiles consist of a short "about" section, as well as a space to list interests and "desires." Once a match is made, the Apple Watch's unique way of giving way of giving directions — vibrating certain ways to indicate someone should turn left or right — will guide people towards true love or a night of terrible regrets.
