The most breathlessly hyped tech day of the year is here. Apple's annual iPhone unveiling will kick off at 10 a.m. PT in Cupertino, California -- and this year's event is set to be packed with more announcements than ever.

According to the rumor mill, Apple CEO Tim Cook will unveil two larger versions of the flagship iPhone 6 (a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch) and a so-called "iWatch" that will mark the company's first entry into the wearable device market. Both the phone and smartwatch are expected to include a mobile-payments chip, and they'll be the first devices to take advantage of fitness-tracking and home automation software that Apple previewed in its iOS 8 unveiling earlier this year. If even the majority of the rumors are correct, the 2014 event will be by far Cook's biggest product launch since he succeeded the late Steve Jobs three years ago. In fact, back in May Apple SVP of online services Eddy Cue crowed: “We’ve got the best product pipeline that I’ve seen in my 25 years at Apple."
