The Simone surge comes as Simone Biles dominated the gymnastics competition, clinching four gold medals and one bronze. Swimmer Simone Manuel also emerged as one of the stars of the games, earning a pair of gold and silver medals.

Google reports that this is the first time since 2010 there has been this much interest in the name Simone.
