Apple Easter egg reveals what Siri really thinks about certain movies

I love virtual Easter eggs. They're little hidden messages or jokes which are lurking inside your favorite apps, websites, games, movies, and so on. Apple even slipped some into iOS 6, the latest version of its mobile operating system, by teaching Siri to say exactly what she thinks about some movies.

If you ask Siri to sum up a movie, she will typically simply show you a virtual card with the flick's synopsis along with details from movie rating website Rotten Tomatoes. But when it comes to a handful of movies, she will actually add a little bit of color, as the Verge's Laura June noticed.

Just try saying "Siri, what is 'The Matrix' about?" and you'll see.

Siri doesn't have an opinion about every movie. She mainly offers her thoughts on things that involve robots or artificial intelligence of some sort.

So far, we know that Siri will throw in her two cents when it comes to "Blade Runner," "2001: A Space Odyssey," "Alien," "Inception," "The Matrix," The Wizard of Oz," "Star Trek," "Star Wars," "The Terminator," "Wall-E," and "Toy Story." She is not always consistent about sharing opinions, so sometimes you may have to ask her about the same movie several times before she brings out the snark.
