Insert "Bad Blood" joke here. Taylor Swift is still angry about how streaming-music service Spotify reacted to her denouncement of the company's treatment of artists -- especially compared with Apple, which decided to pay artists during an Apple Music trial period after Swift published an open letter online.

"Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about," Swift told Vanity Fair in its September issue cover story. "And I found it really ironic that the multi-billion-dollar company reacted to criticism with humility, and the startup with no cash flow [Spotify] reacted to criticism like a corporate machine.”

Swift pulled her music from Spotify in November 2014, saying the company doesn't pay enough money to artists whose songs are streamed on the service. Spotify's CEO defended the company's position in a blog post one week later but didn't change its policies.

Apple handled Swift's wrath differently after she published a blog post on June 21, in which she protested Apple's decision not to pay artists during a three-month free-trial period for its new service Apple Music.

Just hours after Swift published her missive, Apple reversed its policy and announced it would pay up during the Apple Music trial period.
