Dating on a Deadline? Tinder 'Boost' Can Help With That

Tinder Boost is being tested in Australia and makes a user's profile one of the most-viewed in their area for 30 minutes - for a fee.

Tinder wants you to "put yourself first" with its new 'Boost' feature that lets users become one of the top profiles in their area for a limited time.

Daters with a deadline can buy a Boost and get up to 10 times more profile views in half an hour. In theory, a Boost should lead to a user quickly accumulating more matches than usual — though there's no guarantee that those matches will be any more compatible.

The feature is currently being tested in Australia, though Tinder said it hopes to roll out the Boost option to the rest of the world soon.

While anyone can purchase a Boost, subscribers to Tinder Plus, the company's premium service, will get one free Boost per week.

Rosette Pambakian, Tinder's vice president of communications, told NBC News it is testing various price points and packages in Australia.

"A package of Boosts will provide a discount compared to purchasing one," she said. "Similar to other Tinder Plus features, we are charging to keep the feature scarce, so users get value for the additional cost."
