Dorsey was cut off from Twitter and his 1.42 million followers for about 15 minutes Tuesday night before his account was reinstated.

While it's not clear what exactly happened, Dorsey chalked it up to an "internal mistake." The moment sort of felt like deja vu for Dorsey, who was Twitter's first user.

The tweet he sent Tuesday night made reference to the now infamous first tweet he posted back when Twitter was known as Twttr.
