Self-proclaimed “sonic painter” Kanye West has officially entered the gaming industry, and yesterday released a trailer for his first video game, "Only One." The game centers on his mother “traveling through the gates of heaven” and is adapted from a song West released in 2014.

“That was hard to do, bro,” West told the crowd at his sold-out fashion show-slash-album release party Thursday at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, explaining that he had faced resistance from Silicon Valley in his attempts to develop the game. “Y’all just be acting like this ... is regular.”

Footage broadcast on the arena's Jumbotron showed colorized skies of winged angels flying through clouds toward a bright light. His mother, Donda West, passed away in 2007 from complications after cosmetic surgery, and is frequently referenced in Kanye’s work as a major inspiration.

In the game, players must “bring her to the highest gate of heaven by holding her to the light,” West said in a radio interview with Power 105.1 last year. No details were available as to the game's release date or what gaming platform it would run on.
