As if you needed another reason to spend more time on Facebook ... not to mention more time playing "Angry Birds."
Rovio, the evil Finnish masterminds behind the feathery addiction known as "Angry Birds," launched "Angry Birds Friends" on the social network Wednesday.
Yes, "Angry Birds" has been playable on Facebook before, it's just this newly revamped game now offers even more ways for you to suck your online pals into pitting their bird-flinging skills against you.
The game features weekly tournaments in which you'll toss birds at four levels, trying to best your friends' scores. Beat your friends and you'll win trophies, not to mention earn a passel of game-enhancing power-ups. Win a gold trophy and you get three power-up bundles, a silver trophy gets you two bundles and a bronze trophy gets you one bundle. Meanwhile, you also get a power-up for each tournament level you play, and one for simply participating in the tournament.
While bragging rights are great and all, real "Angry Birds" addicts will want to keep coming back to see the new levels Rovio has worked up. That's right, just when you thought you'd played every pig-filled challenge there is ... there's more! "Angry Birds Friends" will deliver four brand-new tournament levels each week.
