Don't panic! Your Facebook profile photo is just a tiny bit bigger now

Profile photos on Facebook are now just a little bit bigger than they used to be.

Relax.

Take a deep breath.

Everything will be OK.

There are no major Facebook redesigns to fear this Monday. The only thing that's different is the size of your profile photo on the social network.

As the folks at the Next Web point out, profile photos on Facebook are now 166 x 160 pixels instead of 130 x 125 pixels.

This change isn't particularly significant — as you can see by the screenshots in this post — but it is slightly amusing that it was made right after Google+ was redesigned to include similarly larger profile images (among other things).

I've reached out to Facebook to ask for more info about this little change (and to see if it will be followed by further design tweaks). I'll update if (or when) we hear back, but in the meantime I suggest checking whether your freshly resized profile photo somehow messes up your carefully arranged timeline by covering up a vital part of your cover image or similar.
