Google is reporting "issues" with Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drive, but says very few of its customers are experiencing the trouble.
The search giant began posting notices to its Apps Status Dashboard early Wednesday morning, announcing that it was investigating problems with the Admin control panel, then with Google Mail, then Google Drive, and later, Google Documents, Spreadsheets and Presentations.
"This issue is affecting less than 0.007 percent of the Google Mail user base. The affected users are unable to access Google Mail," read a 9:09 a.m. ET update. Later that same hour, Google reported, "Google Mail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future."
A new statement issued to NBC News reiterates the ongoing issues:
We are currently investigating issues with Gmail, Drive and Docs as well as the Google Apps Control Panel. We are providing more information and frequent updates through our Google Apps Status Dashboard, which you can find here.
We will post the root cause of the issue there when our teams have completed their investigation. In the meantime, for everyone who is affected, we apologize — we know you count on Google to work for you and we're working hard to restore normal operation for you.

Updated 12:45 p.m. ET: Google's Apps Status Dashboard is showing Google Mail, Drive and Apps as all clear, but has not yet published the root cause. "We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support," readsthe support page. "Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better."
