LinkedIn back online for most after 'experiencing some issues'

Following in the footsteps of Facebook's Monday outage, LinkedIn reported connection problems Wednesday morning, taking to its official @LinkedInHelp Twitter account to tell users, "Our site is currently experiencing some issues. Our team is actively working on it. We'll keep you updated here. Thanks for your patience."

Several hours later, the company tweeted that the issue was being resolved. "Thanks for your patience. We're starting to see site improvement. Stay updated here."

While single-serving site Down For Everyone Or Just Me? reported no problem shortly before 11:30 a.m. ET, many LinkedIn users attempting to log on to the job networking site encountered a blank screen. Access monitoring service Is It Down Right Now? also reported that LinkedIn.com was up and reachable, but it did note that 50 of its users had reported problems.

As usual, Twitter remained the go-to place to crack wise over the latest down website. For example:

Helen A.S. Popkin goes blah blah blah abut the Internet. Tell her to get a real job on Twitter and/or Facebook ... heck, you can even endorse her awesome skills on LinkedIn. In theory, anyway.

This story was updated at 3 p.m. ET to reflect a return of LinkedIn website service.
