Unlike "Draw Something," which until recently looked to be the new king of the hill in smart phone gaming, and which has since significantly cooled off, the desire for "Angry Birds" has yet to slow down. Case in point: the game just passed the billionth download mark.
Rovio celebrates this fact with the following clip, which also does a great job or rubbing their achievement in the face of competition, who are struggling to keep up in recent times:
The number covers all versions of "Angry Birds" that have come thus far, both paid and free: the original, "Angry Birds Seasons," "Angry Birds Rio" and "Angry Birds Space."
The latest version recently flew past the 50 million-download milestone, despite being out for less than two months.
And according to figures highlighted by Joystiq, the news comes hot on the heels of another announcement by Rovio, which posted $106.3 million in revenue for 2011, with $67.6 million of that counting as pre-tax profit.
