The surprisingly emotional and riveting tech demo by game and capture studio Quantic Dream has received a lot of attention and for good reason. Not only did the video manage to show off the studios' new capture technology and prove it could run on a PlayStation 3; it served as a gripping short film with strong performances, haunting music and smart writing. Quantic Dream has now released a new behind-the-scenes video showing how they put "KARA" together.
"K ARA" was directed by Quantic Dream founder David Cage and stars Valorie Curry from Veronica Mars and the upcoming "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2." (You can watch the original short film below.)
"KARA" isn't a trailer for a video game that is in development and that is too bad. The story of an alienated robot having to mask her emotions to survive in a world that sees her as merchandise resonates heart-wrenchingly. Being able to play a game that puts you in that role would be extremely interesting and different.
