'Halo 4' takes over Liechtenstein for massive launch event

The miniscule but picturesque country of Liechtenstein was the venue for a series of large-scale publicity events heralding the release of "Halo 4," which hits stores in a week.

The 360 team worked with Liechtenstein to create setpiece events around a few national landmarks, participated in by a number of "superfans."

Gutenberg Castle, a popular tourist destination, was transformed into a futuristic stronghold, and hosted a "Halo 4" LAN party for the lucky guests. A nearby mine was decked out for the dramatic entrance of Master Chief, to well-timed pyrotechnics, of course. And a mock battleground was created on a local field, complete with UNSC soldiers.

Want more? There's a video showing off the fanfare at the press release describing the event, as well as plenty more photos.

The fans and media invited to Liechtenstein got an early hands-on, but less fortunate Halo players will get their chance to put the game through its paces come November 6th. Keep an eye out for our own review, in case you're on the fence about the latest installment.
