When youcover games, like I do, you are bound to cover Star Wars. And you haven’t lived till you’ve sharedcoffee with a bunch of hungover Storm Troopers and Sith Lords as you wait foryour first E3 interview of the day.
Here is a small collection of the of my favorite videos covering Star Wars games and films over the years. For me, the dream ofStar Wars is alive in video games:
When I found out I might have to witness yet another round of changes to the sci-fi holy trilogy, I let the hate flow through me. My boss and I both found a great deal of catharsis running rampant on Endor taking down some of our most beloved icons. If someone is going to Force-lightning my childhood, it might as well be me. No Ewoks were unharmed in the making of this film.
When I started seeing the cinematic trailers made by Blur Studios, I had the realization that these studios and game developers now had a stronger sense of what made Star Wars great than perhaps Mr. Lucas himself. I still yearn for the day that we get some sort of Star Wars films or TV shows as epic as this footage!
I still say "Star Wars: Kinect" wasn't a bad game, but it was a terrible Star Wars game, a disturbing, twisted, and ridiculous Star Wars game. I never thought I'd live to see a Lando Calrissian dance party ... I was so wrong.
Those are just a few of my favorite videos I've produced covering Star Wars. I don't know if anything I will ever do can beat Jedi kittens though.
May the Fourth (and the Force) be with you always.
