For the 'one percent' gamer on your list: Gold-plated Xbox One, $10,000

If you neglected to pre-order the Xbox One video game console, and couldn't be bothered to wait in line in the freezing cold outside Best Buy on launch day, you probably think you — or that special gamer on your holiday shopping list — are out of luck. Certainly, it's hard enough to find one even on eBay or Craigslist. Well, good news! Harrods, London's upscale department store, has a very special Xbox One in stock, plated in 24-karat gold, and yours for around $10,000.

First spotted by an enterprising Reddit user, the British luxury chain, this high-end version of Microsoft's latest gaming console will only run you about $9,400 more than the regular old $530 version your forward-thinking gamer friends got when Xbox One first became available. Sadly, there weren't any photos taken of the Xbox One controllers or peripherals, so we can't tell if those are equally gilded.

Microsoft announced last week that it had sold more than two million Xbox One consoles since the console first launched late last month. Seeing as the company is racing neck and neck with Sony for next-gen console market dominance, we can probably except more garish promotions like this in the weeks and months to come.
