Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has been dropping hints regarding the company's plans to make a multi-purpose Android tablet, but now there are reports of two tablets in the works.
According to BGR, an anonymous tipster with knowledge of Amazon's plans has shared a small handful of details about the devices:
[Amazon] isn’t planning just one device, but is planning on releasing at least two before the end of the year. Information is light, but we have been told that the "entry" level tablet, codenamed "Coyote" will be based on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform. The big boy? That’s codenamed "Hollywood" and will be based on the NVIDIA T30 "Kal-El" which will bring a screaming quad-core processor with a 500% performance increase over the dual-core Tegra 2.
There aren't many specifics about the devices or details regarding the tipster's track record, but we do know that BGR has an uncanny knack for getting things like this right. So here's hoping we'll soon see a fresh batch of powerful tablets.
