So far we've heard that the iPhone 5 might be announced in the fall of this year, that it might be huge, and that it might have an 8-megapixel camera. Now we're hearing that it might incorporate a fancy curved cover glass.
DigiTimes reports that its industry sources have shared details that indicate Apple has "has purchased 200-300 glass cutting machines to be used by glass makers." Apparently this equipment would be exactly what Apple would need to produce the quantity and type of curved cover glass required for iPhone production.
Of course, it's entirely possible that Apple is buying up glass cutting equipment for entirely different reasons and — just like any other rumor — this gossip should be taken with a large serving of salt.
