The crossbow-carrying, zombie-killing machine Daryl Dixon has become my favorite character on "The Walking Dead" cable show. So the announcement that a new first-person shooting game is in the works -- one that follows Daryl's trek to Atlanta as he fights off hordes of undead -- is fantastic news (though I'm less excited about hanging with his intellectually challenged and racist brother Merle, who will also be featured in the game.)
The first-person shooter is being published by Activision and developed by Terminal Reality and takes place before the events of AMC's "The Walking Dead." As the trailer clearly shows (you can watch it here), the game looks to be a brutal portrayal of survival during an apocalypse. "The Walking Dead" already has several other games including an excellent animated comic book styled cinematic game by Telltale.
AMC's "The Walking Dead" video game will be out in 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
