Chicago’s mayor calls for gun offenders to ‘serve time’
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel, alongside Cook County state attorney Anita Alvarez and Police Superintendent Gary McCarthy, proposes new legislation in an effort to reduce gun violence, increasing minimum sentences for gun crimes and requiring offenders to serve the majority of imposed sentences.
