Sgt. John Penich awarded Silver Star
Nov. 14: Killed in Afghanistan in a friendly fire incident, Sgt. Penich was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for valor for saving his platoon members while repelling an enemy attack. NBC's Brian Williams reports.
