>>> a new analysis of the earthquake in haiti confirms what a lot of us thought when we arrived there. by one measure it is the most destructive natural disaster a single nation has ever endured. with as many as 250,000 deaths, the quake claimed more lives as a percentage of the population than even the indonesian tsunami in 2004 . cost of the damage estimated at a staggering $13.2 billion. that's so far. one positive note of recovery from there, american airlines said today it will resume commercial flights to and from haiti starting this friday.
