Tropical Storm Hermine pounds Texas

Although the storm hammered Houston and San Antonio on Tuesday, it's expected to weaken to a tropical depression overnight. NBC's Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: Tropical Storm Hermine is pounding Texas with heavy rain tonight. Though it's expected to lose power and weaken to a tropical depression during the night, it's carrying a lot of rain. The storm is just about the size of the state of Texas , hammering Houston , San Antonio all day today, packing sustained winds of 40 miles an hour with higher gusts and as much of -- as 10 inches of rain could fall on some areas before it's over. They're worried about tornadoes tonight.
