BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: An important breakthrough to report tonight at that mine in Chile where 33 trapped men have been waiting for almost six weeks so far to be rescued. Workers have succeeded in drilling that potential escape shaft through to the chamber where the men are waiting. But the best guess is still it will be at least November before they can be freed and re-emerge on the surface.
