JFK addresses inaugural Peace Corps class

August 28, 1961: President Kennedy hosts a ceremony at the White House Rose Garden to honor the inaugural class of Peace Corps Volunteers. President Kennedy met and addressed the group, who would soon depart for Ghana and Tanzania, called Tanganyika at the time.
