>>> the u.s. army announced a big change today. in a statement from washington posted on the web, the largest branch of the armed forces said the official head gear of the army will now be the stetson. they say it will replace the now standard black beret and the camouflage cap. the press release says it's a symbolic return to the tumultuous days of the horse cavalry. they feel stetsons will be popular with the troops. they call them functional and downright american. it was only when we noticed this photo on the web and then remembered today's date that we realized we'd been had. it turns out the army has a good sense of humor and celebrates april fool 's day.
