>>> there's a new threat of severe weather in the plain states. also, the heat. weather channel meteorologist chris warren joins us now for more on both of those fronts.
>> kate, right now, we're seeing storms fire up in the plains. tomorrow, this is where we're going to see the severe weather threat. anywhere we see yellow and yed, we'll see strong thunderstorms. the red, this is where we have the best chance for damaging wind, the large hail, and possibly isolated tornadoes. severe weather most likely in the red. another area of red, this is where we're seeing a lot of heat. in chicago, six people had to go to the hospital because of heat. temperatures feeling more like peak summer. we're getting into hot weather . this is dangerous heat. add in the humidity and we'll see temperatures what feels like it's in the triple dujts for some. and kate, when we see a little bit of a cool down for the mid-atlantic and the upper midwest , we'll be going from very hot to plain old hot. not much relief in sioig.
